FROM COURTYARD BAR TO COURT ROOM

ALAN Kayman is imbued in the hotel and liquor industry.

"I know it from both sides, from pulling beer behind the bar, to representing a client before Liquor Licensing Victoria," he says.

He and his family operated some of Victoria's best-known and popular hotels, including the Beaumaris Hotel, the Railway at Brighton, the Brighton Club, and the Polo Club at Ascot Vale.

Alan was also a board member of the Australian Hotels Association, and was State

Treasurer as well as serving on the national board.

The much-valued advice he gave to other hoteliers in those days about hotel
